Today I read that swearing off of carbs may be making you depressed! No, not because you
"miss" them, but because carbohydrates release serotonin, a "well-known contributor to feelings of well-being". If your body does not get enough carbs, your brain will stop regulating serotonin, which will make you feel "down in the dumps". Instead of swearing off of them completely, try a diet that includes complex carbs, such as whole grains and veggies (do your research or ask your Doctor if you have questions). And don't forget to smile!
