Onions and Your Dog

Today I read that onions in any form (powdered, fresh, etc...) can cause anemia in your dog by destroying the dog's red blood cells. I also read that eating small doses over a long period of time, or just having one great big dose will have the same affect.  Symptoms to look for include vomiting, diarrhea, and breathlessness.
